A dental cleaning, or prophylaxis, is a routine procedure to maintain the health of your teeth and gums.

In our office, we hand scale and use a Cavitron (an ultrasonic instrument) for a thorough and comfortable cleaning.

If you think you may be due for a cleaning, call us at 303-221-3044 or submit the form at the bottom of this page.

I was on vacation in the area when I experienced an old crown in the front becoming loose, I went on line and found Butterman Dental, they got me in the 1st thing the next morning. Dr. Dan was a straight shooter and we came to a resolution that helped me continue my vacation for the next week before going home to Ohio to see my “regular” Dentist. His state of the art office and on the spot 3D imaging and printing capabilities were first class! The staff was phenomenal also! If I lived in the area Butterman Dental would be new “regular” office of choice, I just absolutely loved his operation, people in the area are lucky to have Butterman Dental as an option!

The benefits of routine dental cleanings include:

Plaque removal

Tartar (also referred to as calculus) and plaque buildup, both above and below the gum line, can result in serious periodontal problems. Unfortunately, even with a proper home brushing and flossing routine, it can be impossible to remove all debris, bacteria and deposits from gum pockets. The experienced eye of a dentist or hygienist using specialized dental tools is necessary to catch potentially damaging buildup.

Teeth Cleaning

A healthier looking smile

Stained and yellowed teeth can dramatically decrease the aesthetics of a smile. A dental cleaning can remove the stains and put the sparkle back in your smile. For most patients, we recommend a dental cleaning twice a year. For patients who suffer from gum disease, more frequent cleanings may be advised.

Fresher breath

Halitosis (bad breath) is generally indicative of advancing periodontal disease. A combination of rotting food particles and potential gum infection may result in bad breath. The removal of plaque, calculus, and bacteria during a routine cleaning can eliminate bad breath and reduce infection.
